Plymouth Dental Centre of Excellence is involved with raising money to support hospitals based in Khambhalia in India and Kisumu in Kenya. Dr Badiani, has started charities to support rural villagers in India and Kenya with hospital and dental care.

As part of his team, we are supporting him and all our team’s endeavours to make a difference to people’s lives.

Dr Mitesh Badiani and his father have built a hospital in Khambhalia, Gujarat, India, which is named Lalitaben Premjbhai Badiani after his grandparents.

The hospital has been treatinglocal people with cataracts. We are now looking set up a dental camp and take our team to offer treatment and support to those people who would not normally have access to this type of treatment.

Dr Badiani is heading a team of dentists and nurses who will be travelling this summer to offer dental care to the local people who would not normally have access to dentistry.

Since visiting both sites last year, Dr Badiani and his team are dedicated to supporting the local people and as part of his team we are looking to help fund the charity to support the need for supplies.

The Kenya trip is dear to Dr Badiani’s heart as Kisumu is Dr. Badiani’s place of birth. Dr. Badiani’s Uncle Suresh Badiani was a Doctor in the Kisumu area but sadly passed away in October 2009 and in memory of him we are taking a dental team to Kisumu. We need to raise funds to buy equipment and dental materials to take with us.

We would be delighted if you would join us in our support. We will be involved in a number of fundraising activities throughout the year and we are delighted that our patients want to help as well.

This year we are travelling to India and Kenya and Uganda next year.

Team News

The Plymouth team have decided that we would like to raise money to fund this trip for our nurses and dentists to visit India, Kenya and Uganda and to do this we are organising some fundraising events.

The first event we will be organising is a back waxing event which Dr Salman has kindly volunteered for. This will be taking place in February and we would love to have your support to raise money.

The practices have also arranged a dog racing afternoon at Dr Badiani’s house where the whole team and some friends will again, try to raise money for the charities.

We are delighted to announce that our Therapist Lindsey Wright had a baby boy in March 2010 and will be returning in October 2010.
